The Feeling

On a day like today,
a young lady arrived
at the airport,
with family
and friends.

Her heart was heavy,
and she was sad.
For she knew the time
has come to leave
this Heaven and
return to the
far lonely
world
elsewhere.

Unsettling feeling
in her heart,
a kind of longing
to stay back forever.
A kind of familiar loneliness
that she was acquainted with,
comes to her again.

And she sighed,
wistfully, forlornly,
hoping again hope,
to stay in this limbo
of joy and
belonging
forever.

'Oh no, I'm leaving again',
she murmured,
hot tears threatening
to well in her eyes.

Bravely, she forced
a smile at her
loved ones.
Without much of
a second look,
she bid them
farewell.

In the plane,
the girl sat,
with eyes closed,
reliving those
wonderful
and fond
memories
she left behind,

and those sweet voices
and carefree laughter
that accompanied
every single image
that went fleeting pass.

Unconsciously,
a faint smile ghosted at her mouth.

'I'll see them again soon.
Take care, my loved ones,
I'll be back.'

A cliche....

I love this message...

"Time does not wait for you or me, days pass and years pass, you lose your loved ones, you move from your loved ones. Your life changes, friends change, people change!! But your heart has those precious moments fetched in it whether you want it or not. It is there! Make you happy and sad at times and making you even more painful at times..your heart has those moments in that corner where no one can see what is it, they ask seeing your blank face and you just smile, saying "NOTHING"".

It is so so true. Wish it was not.

People with whom you were so comfortable, whom you hugged and adored are no more yours. The shoulders on which you rested, the arms that comforted you are out of your reach forever. Your rights have been taken by someone. Its so terrible when you realize that a person who was your best buddy, in whom you confided every thing is no more your best buddy. It always hurts more to have and lose than to not have in the first place.

But the life still goes on. You find new faces, new people and you move on with those
new faces.

But those moments, those years can never come back and you never can forget those.
You make the best of everything. Best of friends, best of fun, best of memories. And
they are there with you forever. Its not the matter of distance or the long communication
gap, you know, they are there and they will be there whenever you want. So little does it matter that they are near or far. Its lucky enough to have such a nice company. And am
damn too lucky!

Thank you God(if you exist)!

DA-IICT calling

Our meeting with Prof. Prabhat Ranjan and former director DR. APK, gave me some direction to do something in life. Prof. PR gave us all the updates of Gandhinagar city and DA-IICT..that included infocity and the coming up eating places there like CCD, subway and many more...then we discussed about the impact of reservation and its impact on the reputation if university..It has certainly gone down.
Even 240 seats were not full..The Director, P.K.Chopra and Anil Ambani are least bothered of it because its not of any profit to them..moreover they have their personal benefits.
It was really disappointing when we realized that the quality is serisously deteriorating...

While leaving he just said one thing..u guys shud come there as faculty and look in the matter...make a strong alumni so that it can take part in the administrative decisions even if not supported by the college..

Well its inspiring at the same time its disappointing to see the degradation of the college.
Since, this college has given us so many things, its time to pay back. What we can do is make our alumni strong and try giving it the reputation that it deserves.
I hope people will join me back in this.

..a Roller Coaster

life is funny, isn't it?
Just when you think you have got it all figured
out, just when you finally begin to plan something,
get excited about something, and feel like you know
what direction you are heading in, the paths change,
the signs change, the wind blows the other way, north
is south, and east is west, and you are lost. It is so easy
to lose your way, to lose direction. And that's with following
all the signposts.

It has its own ways of enjoying. Every so often it likes to dip
and when you feel like you can't take any more it smooths
out again.

Things change so quickly. Just when you get used to something,
zap! It changes. Just when you begin to understand someone,
zap! They grow up.

Our life is made up of time;our days are measured in hours, our
pay measured by those hours, our knowledge is measured by
years. We grab a quick few minutes in our busy day to have a
coffee break. We rush to our desks, we watch the clock, we live
by appointments. And yet your time eventually runs out and you
wonder in your heart of hearts if those seconds, minutes, days,
weeks, months, years and decades were being spent the best way
they possibly could.

It's funny because when you are a child, you believe you can be anything you want to be, go wherever you want to go. There's no limit to what you can dream. You expect the unexpected, you believe in magic, fairy tales, and in
possibilities. Then you grow older and that innocence is shattered and somewhere along the way the reality of life gets in the way and you are hit by the realization that you can't be all you wanted to be,you just might have to settle for a little bit less. Or perhaps a variation of what you once wanted.

Why do we stop believing in ourselves?
Why do we let facts and figures and anything but dreams rule our lives?

RocKing ON

all good so far...exam went ok(i hope i havent made silly mistakes)------fingers crossed...
using the experience from the engineering life....made the project proposal in half an hour  ;)

The next day....party.....yeeeeeeeee
well nothing seemed like as if there gonna be a party until six in the evening, when my roomie came and started the arrangements in the house....now i was feeling as if something gonna happen
All starting to get ready...I was made to wear a saree...off-white and it was beautiful!
The food was delicious(menu-chole,paneer,aloo gobhi,mixed veg,raita,poori,rice,kheer,papad)
quite a number and it was so tasty that the host i.e. me and my roomie had hardly anything left for eating. 40 people for a party is quite a number.
The pooja went good and so did the gathering. It felt different that day. Would not say I felt home but it was some strange kind of feeling. I was missing India so much. Never did I imagine that am going to miss it so much.

Anyways, all went well. The music arrangement was good but noone was willing to dance. Finally just a few of us were left who tried dancing. Must say dancing wearing a saree is more than a job.
All in all it was fun. The guys told their experience of boozing, what happened when they had liquor for the first time. And I was just listening, sitting in a corner on my lappie.

Everyone except we two had left at around 5 in the morning. All tired and exhausted. Then I slept even late around 7 talking to someone online. Seeing the diwali snaps and uploading them here and there :)

It was a different experience for me for we were the host. And now I know what responsibility a host has. So am pretty much prepared to be a host in future too :)

hectic OctOber

Sitting on the couch...thinking what to do...listening to 'leaving on a jet plane'.............

'multitasking'---------

since days was procastrinating this writing...

many things happened in the last few days...after the trip to ichetucknee, dint
go on any other trip, for any of the trips involve money and I still am not earning :)

one of it was the birthday party of one of my friends that i attended last weekend!
It was a good experience for I came to meet so many people of my department whom
I had seen but never spoken to. And yeah of course had chicken there after long time.
Nice food it was :)

Well we also had somethings called a night exam(an exam that was held in night time :P)
it was a good experience and exam also went pretty good. A different experience over all.
Assignments and small works here and there have become a part of schedule now.
My best experience was my DSP mini-project. It had some concepts involved that made me
struggle a lot...but finally i got it and implemented. Took me few days to understand and one
day to implement it. The pleasure of running a code without any errors and the correct output
is undoubtedly unexplainable. It definitely gives a boost up in your confidence.

Well then the usual schedule was there...
Something happening was one of the friends' birthday and that too
at my apartment. My roommates' german friend baked the cake at home. It was chocolate
cake and was yummmiieeeeee......we made 'pav-bhaji'. Gave the guy birthday bumps (I was the one to instigate this idea of bumps). We partied, played cards, danced and had loads of fun. Slept at 5 in morning with the plan of going to Miami the next day but unfortunately the bad weather struck our luck and we could not go.

Well that was what I have been upto since weeks..nothing much exciting but definitely would be the coming week.. 31st--------DIWALI PARTY. Looking forward to it (have exam on 30th :P)
A hectic week coming up: lots of assignments, projects and exam :|
But finally party.

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeipppppppppppeeeeeeeeeee

A gOOd wEEkEnD

The friday night started with watching of the moive 'Indiana Jones and....'
Reached there quite some time before so was roaming here and there...was thinking what to do..
had FREE popcorn and soda...then from 0-1-2-1-0 floors...saw people learning salsa..my current interest :P...was fun watching them...
the movie finally started at 9...indeed it was a good time pass..better than sitting at home and doing absolutely nothing...movie ended and then we went to the ballroom where more of our friends joined us...
Played bowling for the first time...thinking that the games in the gameroom were free that night..
played one game 9 of us and when we were returning the shoes we got to know that we had to pay..
well we were 9 so oer head came up to be $2 only :phew:
it was already 2 in the night and we were still in the university few of the people have gone for the free morning breakfast..so we were waiting for them to return...sitting near the open auditorium side heard some guy playing guitar and sitting...which reminded me of my friend..i called him up but useless guys...instead of asking how am i were worried about my mexican roommate....hopeless they are...anyways talked to them...and then went to walmart for i had to buy something...

Next day we had to go to the ichetucknee river...got up by 9.30 and got ready for the trip...it was fun...tubing in that stream of water...i dint know swimming so did not come out of the tube...even paddling was tough for me...always went to the edges and then someone had to push me from there to the center...all in all it was amazing fun...after an hour of floating in water all were tired and damn hungry...on way back to home stopped at a gas station and there ordered pizza and had chips in the shop there...then went to the hare-krishna temple thinking that lunch served there would be free...lol...we again had pizza and desserts but had to pay for it...
though the place was nice...silent, beautiful, green and aesthetically wonderful...

took us around an hour or so to return home and then made onion delicious onion pakoda, along with fried snacks, mint chutney and tea....awesome combination and delicious eatables...ate and ate and then played phase 10...it was already 8 and we had to go for the raquet ball also...got ready and went for that...it was also fun..played for the first time and willing to play more and more..though i really sucked at it :D

was really tired by that time and came back home, had dinner and then direct to bed..slept and slept...got up in the morning and then sunday passed just like that...with little bit of study!

And now the week as usual...the lectures, assignments and studies with playing and dancing in the evening times!!

Its not that bad over here either....

Another weekEND ended

With the assignments and submissions in the coming up week, this weekend went off with pretty much hectic schedule...
Probability gave pains but finally with the help of others, we were able to solve the problem.
Image processing was easy and so was DSP...3 assignments in a row...but finally done with them phew!
Watching the lecture videos for the pop-quiz and doing the reading assignments...seems so much of work..indeed it is!

The bad part was my unusual schedule of sleeping and getting up..yesterday only I slept at 9.30 in night and got up at 1 and then damn hungry...what can one eat at that point of time..talking to my 'jat' friend who was giving me weird ideas of looking outside the window and counting the stars and blah blah, suddenly clicked to me to make maggi...there I go..maggi at 2 in night and the unusual bakar with jat..it was yummie...added to it was lemon and butter(thanks for the idea)..delicious!!

The assignment kept me awake for an hour or so and then finally I decided to doze off and get up in time in the morning..so did I...cleaning the room, made food(aloo paratha again and sucked at it) and then studies..the daily sunday schedule...

The only good thing of this sunday was the 'malai kofta' in dinner...my roomie made it pretty well and we had friends over dinner...so all in all it was good dinner and finally a happy ending of the day as all the assignments were done by now!

As they say---------"All is well that ends well"

When I did not sleep in the IP class.......

One more usual day passed..the only thing that was good was I was wide awake in the image processing class :P
That is something seriously unusual, for this was the first class when I found myself not sleeping by the end of the class...
after the class as usual, went for the bus and for no reasons went for bus#12 but after waiting there for around 15 minutes came back for bus#1..the weather has changed completely and it has started raining and I did not have an umbrella so I was almost completely wet...
This damn bus stopped at some place for around half an hour for some unknown reasons...
Finally I reached home in an hour and then ate something and as usually went for sleep and now its 1 in the night and am up at this unusual time...
Was hungry so ate frozen aloo paratha...yeah too lazy to cook something on my own...told my roomie to wake me up by 9 at any cost if she finds me sleeping else I will be missing my dinners as usually...I hope I dont follow this stupid routine from today!!

Well, hope is the anchor of the soul...so is mine!

ASSignment DAY 1...

Submission on september 11th and am struggling a little bit with the assginment not because am not getting the answers but for I dont know the answers..so waiting for one of my friends so that I could discuss the answers..discussed the answers and then suddenly came the new announcement that the submission date has been postponed for the next week...well what could I do then...completed it with the touch of an engineer...one question still pending!!
By the end of that I was pretty much hungry so decided to go back home...
waiting at the bus stop alone for the BUS#1 to come..and bloody bus came after 20 minutes..
and god knows why these people have such a bad habit of keeping the ac temperature low...neither do they wear much clothes nor do they keep temperature high...I was shivering in full sleeves and those in bits and bites were having fun...
Unusally, today did not get down at the stop from where I had to walk quite a distance but got down at the stop from where my home was just in front..obviously at the expense of some time and my hunger!!

Reached home and first thing that I did was fried rice for myself...
And the rest as they say 'forget it'

Last but not the least---
for my friends in India who are starting with their new job..."ALL THE BEST TO THEM"

A Typical DAIICTian

My first official night out in US..so that I shall not miss the 9.35 lecture in the morning!
Now that sounds like back to college..night outs not one but 3-4 in a go..and then almost dozing off
in the lectures..
Late in the night it was hard to pass time so decided upon watching something online because if i would have taken the studying something part then definitely I would have gone off to sleep.
Anyways, now what to watch..FRIENDS or some movie..??
ROCK ON was something that I had heard from many of my friends and got good reviews..so I went for it.
Watching that movie remined me of one of my close friends(lead singer, a guitarist and a big music fan;i owe my music collection and interest in music to him). Have seen him adding lines to his originals and he explaining me the meaning of them but I still don't remember :sigh:
Well, the movie was good and it ended at 4.30 in the morning..now the question was what shall I do to keep myself awake until 8 in morning...
Luckily one of my friends buzzed me and there I go, my favorite timepass---chatting...
Talked to friends and all and somehow passed time..though took a small nap for an hour or so too.
In the morning, was getting ready that I received a message from my music fan friend..wow what a coincidence..
A new day has started and it had a good beginning..the rest of the day was pretty much usual..
lectures and then back to home and sleeping :)
Now assignment time...
